Mark 1:29-39 Fifth Sunday after the Epiphany

Following the lectionary which are the pre-selected readings for the year, we are reading the book of Mark this month. Since the Epiphany Sunday, we read Jesus baptized and tempted in the wilderness and started his ministry in public. He called his first disciples, Simon, Andrew, James, and John, and last week we read that people were astounded at his teaching and he casted out the man with unclean spirit. Today, in our Gospel reading, we have an opportunity to see a day in the life of Jesus, what he does, what he says, and what he prioritized. So reading the scripture, how about we imagine following Jesus’ day and observing him and what he does?
