Potluck and Cross-Cultural Ministry Workshop

  • Apr 23

    Starts: April 23, 2017 @ 11:30 am

Please join with us in a potluck meal and workshop after second service on April 23rd. After lunch, Rev. Sam Royappa, from the UM Wisconsin Conference office in Sun Prairie, will lead us in a discussion of Hope’s transition with our new pastor, Hyejung Hwang. Sam is the Director of Connectional Ministries for the Wisconsin Conference. All friends and members of Hope who are interested are invited. The workshop will go about 3 hrs. after our meal is finished.

Workshop on Joys, Benefits and Challenges of Becoming a Cross-Racial or Cross-Cultural Ministry Setting

This workshop will focus on the Meaning, the Purpose, the Value and the Future of Ministry Setting when a local church receives a pastor whose lived experience is substantially different from that of the majority of the congregation. This could be because of various kinds of difference: race, ethnicity, language, class, nationality, theology, and others. Yes, there are certainly challenges, but there are even more benefits. At this workshop, we will lift up together joys, benefits and challenges of such ministries with the power of amazing and abundant grace of God. Please bring your questions and we will together find answers and solutions.
